Description
The Hanchurch Mixture brick is a premium wire-cut facing unit that marries modern consistency with an authentically textured finish. Each brick measures 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm, slotting neatly into stretcher, Flemish or English bond patterns and ensuring tight, even mortar beds with minimal cutting. A light drag-faced surface carries subtle linear striations, catching and diffusing daylight to impart façades with a softly weathered, handcrafted character.
Internally, vertical perforations create roughly 24–29 % voids, reducing the dry weight of each brick to about 2.4 kg for easier handling on site and enhancing thermal and acoustic performance within the wall. These cores also provide an exceptional mechanical key for mortar, speeding up laying rates and producing uniformly strong, neat joints.
Engineered to BS EN 771-1 standards, the Hanchurch Mixture achieves a compressive strength of at least 75 N/mm², water absorption below 7 % (by weight), an S2 soluble-salts rating and F2 frost resistance—qualities that guarantee decades of dependable performance in exposed UK conditions. Supplied in banded packs of 500, it combines economy of bulk supply with the warm, variegated appeal of a red-mixture palette that will mature gracefully over time.
