Description
The Bradgate Claret is a robust stock-facing brick crafted by Ibstock at their Leicester works. Each unit measures 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm and is produced to T2/R1 size tolerances, ensuring razor-sharp edges and consistent beds for neat mortar joints. Its rich claret-red body carries a heavy sand-creased texture—subtle linear grooves that catch light and lend each elevation a handcrafted, period-inspired character.
A single frogged core creates 8–13% voids, reducing the dry weight to around 2.1 kg per brick, improving thermal performance within cavity walls and providing an excellent mechanical key for mortar. Engineered for long-term resilience, it achieves a compressive strength of approximately 20 N/mm², water absorption near 19%, S2 soluble-salts classification and F2 frost-resistance. Supplied in banded packs of 430, the Bradgate Claret Brick balances durable structural integrity with a warm, variegated hue—ideal for full façades, feature walls or boundary constructions that demand both character and reliability.
